While you’re at it, may as well stop for a share plate or three, at the town’s newest restaurant, Canteen Kitchen and Bar. ![]() Your best bet is to start down near Coolum Beach Hotel and work your way past the caravan park and towards Point Perry. Pokéstops, Pokégyms, and Pokémon they can all be found along Coolum Beach’s main drag. Need to eat? Make this your chance to try out Nambour Social or Nook and Cranny. Start with Quota Park-there’s lures going off around the clock, so it’s rarely without a gathering of excitable peeps. At the base of the range, Nambour is getting some serious cred among Pokémon Go! circles. We suggest doing a Sunshine Coast hinterland café hop, making sure you stop by Montville and Flaxton Gardens-you’ll see why. Not one to be left out of the loop, those players in Nambour and the hinterland are getting their fair share of the action. Want to take over or help reinforce a Pokégym? Get to Maroochydore bus station. Refuel and you might nab more than a latte. Need a break? Oh Darling, Urban Garden, and Get Fresh are serving up strong coffees nearby. If you want to see what modern-day zombies look like, or land yourself some Pokéstops, go join the rest of the crowd here. We’ve saved the best ‘til last, with possibly the most talked about area in Maroochydore-Cotton Tree Park. Near Bli Bli, the pioneer statue at Cutters Ridge is also a Pokémon-catching hotspot. We’ve also had word that Main Street in Buderim is brimming with a whole heap of ‘em, all within the space of 1km. To load up on Pokéstops around Maroochydore, don’t go past Sunshine Plaza and Ocean Street in the CBD-a cake from Tome has also been found to help the situation. There’s also a bunch of smart Pokémon taking courses at USC, so get your crew together, and get scoping the uni’s grounds. For a pretty much guaranteed Pokémon catch, plant yourself at the Loo With A View along Mooloolaba Esplanade. Stop in at Black Bunny Kitchen for a craft beer paddle and our mates at Gainsbourg for an espresso martini-hey, you gotta stay hydrated. ![]() If you’ve got the time (who are we kidding, you’ll make time) start at Alex Heads (there’s a cluster of Pokéstops around the surf club) and make your way to the spit. Keen to help out your team? Kawana Shoppingworld is home to a Pokégym and it’s changing hands constantly. And Pokémon have been known to lurk around Point Cartwright, particularly La Balsa Park. Along with the fountain at Kings, Happy Valley is also a prime area for Pokéstops. Reward yourself with brekkie at Beau’s, a coffee at Lamkin Lane, or a mid-way booze-stop at The Pocket.
